Cindy Alton Design offers graphic design services of all sorts. The bread and butter of this business is corporate design. Designing logos, packaging and marketing material is how I earned my stripes at Sunbeam, HoMedics and Taylor. Working for corporations makes you good at all sorts of design while understanding that the goal is to inspire someone to make a purchase. The most creative concept that has ever been conceived means nothing if your product sits on a shelf. Years of practice has given me the gift of learning how to cut through clutter and give consumers the clear benefits of a product in graphic design.
Experience has also led me to becoming a speedy graphic designer. Customers need what they need now. Very few people come to me asking for something they need next month. So being available to my customers and working efficiently is something I strive for. This is a full time (and then some) job, so I work all sorts of hours to make my customer’s deadlines.
Taking pride in my work is something I would think all designers strive for. My goal is absolutely that too – but with a spin. I can create work all day long that I love – but is it what my customer loves? Your happiness is what my goal is. If you aren’t jumping up and down thrilled with your design, then I still have work to do.
Process is something folks often ask about. For me, I want to spend some time talking to the customer while trying to understand their goal. Once I have a handle on the expectation, I usually need 1-3 days to create several options. I e-mail a pdf and we talk it through. Revisions are e-mailed to you until you are over the moon. Then final files are sent over in any format you need. Usually jpg, gif, png, pdf, and/or AI files will do it – but if you need anything else I can accommodate.
